Summer Breeze was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, a true city, with miles of concrete and air soaked in industry. At the age of 18 after graduating from an arts-driven high school, she decided to take a year off before starting into university and travel across Canada. Craving something totally new, she decided to start her travels in Kitimat, B.C. where she had some family that she had not yet met. After only a short time she fell in love with all that is Northwestern B.C., and at the end of her year off, she found herself heartsick that the time had come to leave. Over the course of the next 4 years or so she attended university and moved around a bit, but all the while keeping her memories of the Pacific Northwest close to her heart. So finally the opportunity arose, and in the Fall of 2004 she made the big (permanent) move, which brings her here today, still living in and loving working as an artist in the Pacific Northwest.
For as long as she can remember art, and finding new ways of “putting images to paper” have been huge parts of Summer’s life. If there were one word to describe her art it would be “colourful”. “I love colour and the emotions it can inspire. I like to say that I paint landscapes as portraits, concentrating on the perfect imperfections, which are in essence, nature.” Apart from her traditional art experience, having studied Fine Arts throughout childhood, all the way up to the university level, Summer also possesses a strong digital art background which has brought new life to her work. Summer is currently working primarily with Acrylics on canvas and more of her past and current works can be found on her website
